Expressions of interest for the 2015 Myer Innovation Fellowships are now open and will close at midnight 31 August 2014 (AEST - Melbourne time).
The Myer Innovation Fellowship program provides support to individuals rather than organisations. These individuals will have a proven track record of achievement in their field of expertise. This program will provide these outstanding individuals with freedom from their day jobs to:
• Open productive new lines of inquiry
• Ask provocative questions
• Challenge conventional wisdom
• Develop new ideas, approaches, and strategies.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step outside the routine and rhythm of everyday life and chase down an answer to the great tests we face as a nation.
The Myer Innovation Fellowships will support Australia’s brightest, self-directed leaders to forge breakthrough solutions and articulate actionable ideas which compel our community to respond. Fellows will take nine months away from their current role to pursue a nascent idea that has the capacity to radically shift our approaches to the challenges facing the social and environmental sectors in Australia today.
The Myer Innovation Fellowships provide recipients with the unrestricted time and support needed to develop their ground-breaking idea into a plan for action. Fellows will each receive $100,000 for their nine month commitment to the program along with select administrative and operational support.
Successful applicants will demonstrate exceptional vision in addressing their chosen challenge and be able to relate their problem-solving approach to The Myer Foundation’s and Sidney Myer Fund’s objectives in the areas of Education, Sustainability and the Environment, or Poverty and Disadvantage.
Each Fellow will receive $100,000. An additional $30,000 will be available to each Fellow for approved expenses such as work space, rent, travel and contracting of external expertise.
