Our first Startup Tasmania mumpreneur gathering for 2012 is going to be amazing. Now the festive season is over and kids are (finally) back at school, time for you to start focusing on YOU! Our very own fabulous mumpreneur and super coach Greer Sakul is going to run a workshop for us focusing on goal setting and getting yourself ready to have the best year of your life. So, Monday 5th march at 12.00pm is when it all kicks off. We use the term mumpreneur loosely to describe not only actual mumpreneurs, but any gals giving birth to a business idea, inclusive and supportive to all women at all ages and stages style!

The Mumpreneur workshops this year are going to be theme based, so each month there will be a speaker with a theme relevant to mumpreneurs and business/personal growth, and time for networking and discussing the things you want to know to get your business ideas growing – all suggestions for speakers etc will be happily taken.

We will have yummy chai tea and snacks, sometimes a pot of soup, bring along your lunch or something to share, and we can keep the communal ‘kitchen table’ overflowing.

See the flyer for details – see y’all there!

The Startup Ladies Start-up Soup Salons are a monthly women-in-business networking event around the metaphorical ‘Startup Tasmania kitchen table’ designed to assist startup gals in entering the market, or growing their business, in a supportive mentored environment.

November is the last Startup Ladies Soup Salon as we all know December gets nutz for social engagements, and to celebrate a fab year, we are not only having lunch – but an awesome seminar to get us ready for 2012.

One common issue raised by gals in business all the time, no matter whether they are mumpreneurs, corporate ladies, small business owners or consultants, are their issues with managing their time and the multiple demands on them. This is a real issue in growing a startup, and the core of many feelings of being overwhelmed and ‘stuck’ as so many things mount up that it is hard to know where to start.

The ‘How to Say No’ workshop, developed and delivered by Robyn Everist is brilliant and will give you many tips and solutions on to how to prioritise yourself and learn how to say no without feeling guilt or pressure. Now who doesn’t want some of that – especially before Christmas!!!

A whole range of situations will be covered including how to say no to:

Well-meaning friends

Pester Power from kids

Living wastefully

Pushy sales people

Consumerism

Over working

Family pressure

Doing too much

Peer pressure

Impulse buying

These topics will help you with balancing both work and life, as we all know how these are boundary-less in the modern working gals life!

We really look forward to seeing you all at Startup Tas for the final Startup Ladies Soup Salon for 2011, and at this lifechanging seminar. Invite your pals along, this is a women-only event that will assist all women, not just those in small business.

RSVP here to book and for catering.
