Australia could miss out on the global tech boom

Startup Australia have published a report about the impact of tech startups in the Australian economy, and it doesn't look so good.

Startup Australia's Crossroads report shines a spotlight on the Australian tech startup scene, and in comparison to much of the rest of the world, we're significantly underperforming.

They report that we need significant changes in awareness, education, ongoing skills development, access to expertise, access to capital, taxation of Employee Share Schemes and international collaboration to start to see the real potential of the sector.

It was also covered in the Sydney Morning Herald yesterday: http://www.smh.com.au/small-business/startup/whats-wrong-with-our-startup-sector-20140416-36qof.html
