Who should participate?

The target market for Startup Tasmania participants are any entrepreneurs starting businesses in any sector, but principally in high growth technology start-ups.

The membership has no limitations however, and experienced business people, investors, consultants and support agencies are encouraged to join to offer mentoring and advice to new business entrants.

The group is based in Hobart and draws participants principally from the south, although there are northern and north western members who come to the events when in Hobart. These businesses are primarily high growth and exporting off island to mainland or overseas with technology based products.

Their indicative turnover is estimated to be in excess of $100 000 once they are established with the potential for high growth. It is estimated that 50 — 70 business will participate in the triannual Pitch Club events, and that the networking meet up every Friday attracts upwards of 20 individuals per event.
